The Taupe Times: Comparison

Proceeding with the taupe theme. I rarely do comparisons because.. I don't know why. Maybe because I believe they are of no value, as everything was already compared and cross-compared by other bloggers?.. But this time I was curious myself how the taupes I have compare to each other. And no free nail wheels : )

So, here are the guinea pigs:

And having applied all of them on the nails we have the following result:

All applied in 2 coats, moreover, by formula and quality they are pretty similar (=equally good!), except maybe China Glaze Below Deck, which is a 1-coater. OPI Parlez-Vous OPI? I just added to have some purpleness there, I wouldn't call it a taupe otherwise. And I'm glad to see I have no dupes, Manhattan and CC look very similar, but the first one is less brownish.

Which one do you like the most? Maybe you have some other taupes you like? Tell me : ) 

Psychedelic Pink Dust

Usually I'm indifferent to neons and megabright colours, but this summer was SO shitty in terms of weather that something insided me kept insisting on getting a couple of crazy shades. Just crazy shade was not enough and I chose one with crazy hologlitter - Color Club Space Case:

BUT it turned out that this polish is much more boring in reality.. Hologlitter doesn't really stand out how I expected it to. Disappointed, I decided to bring more bling and topped it with China Glaze Fairy Dust. And here the party starts!

I have some more crazy blingy brights and I'd like to show them soon, but there are some circumstances that might prevent me from doing that, at least for now. You'll find out soon : )

Master Nails

Ha, you can interpret the header in many ways, but what I mean is that these manicure is different from all previous ones because it is done by a person with a Master degree : ) By me. I finally submitted my thesis and graduated yesterday. For this reason I was posting so rarely lately, I was extremely busy. I still am, but the main headache is gone. Okay, now to the nails: 

For my G-day (graduation, that is) I was wearing Color Club Pretty In Platinum topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust. Together with black dress it looked pretty, indeed.

Pretty in Platinum wasn't as good as I expected, to be honest, mostly because of visible brush strokes. I didn't even make swatches of it alone, I'll revert to that some other time.

On the last pic I managed to catch the magnificent spakles of Fairy Dust. I just love this holoshine, it's amazing!!

Swap №7

The week started great - with a pack in my postbox : ) I generally adore getting any kind of post, but when I see a thick heavy envelope with obviously polishes inside my heart just melts!! This time it was a swap pack which made its long way from Sweden, from a lovely lady Miss Jones, whose nails are a piece of art. You know this kind of nails and swatches where everything is just per-fect? Well, she's a great example of that - check her blog and see : )

What do we usually do when we get nail mail? Right, we're rushing to try the new stuff!! 

The first one I took in my hands was Color Club Fashion Addict, because, attention, it's my first holo ever! No wonder I was hell curious how it will work on my nails.. Let's see: 

Application was perfect: 2 coats, dries fast, I didn't even need the top coat. And as I wasn't using Color Club for a while, I totally forgot how awesome are their brushes! 

And now to the shade. I have already mentioned that I'm indifferent to holos BUT this one is very special! I haven't noticed this holo linear effect (how did Scrangie capture it, I wonder..), but at the same time the polish is stuffed with holo particles, which make it look as if it's illuminated from within. Absolutely beautiful!!!

Btw in poor indoor light it becomes almost nude on my hands : ) Such a conversion, ha.  

Sorry for the photospam, but I just couldn't stop.. This polish was love from the first brush stroke!

Pinky Things

By request of one of my readers, which kinda coincided with my mood, I decided to go into pinks today :) Baby pink + some darker pink/violet seemed a nice combination to me, so now I'm sharing it:

The polish is Color Club Vintage Couture stamped with Yves Rocher Violin, which is very pigmented and quite good for konading. Hope you like it!

Silber+grau/braun

Zur Zeit leider kann ich keine Weihnachtsdesigns auf meinen Nägeln schaffen (die ich sooooo maaaag!!), weil ich fast jeder Tag nach Uni muss, und obwohl es nicht verboten ist, bunte Nagellacke zu tragen, dennoch versuche ich im Grenzen der Eleganz zu bleiben. Doch bald habe ich Weihnachtsferien und hoffe während dieser Zeit meine Kreativitätsbedürfnisse zu befriedigen :)
