Green + Gold

...combination is one of my favorite ones ever. More than that I only love dark blue + gold, it's such a royal couple - I'll show it some other time, now we'll get back to green and gold. After I tried Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow, I firmly decided to buy it's cheaper dupe - Essence Make It Gold. As it is a gold glitter topper, I couldn't show it alone, so I took little green baby Depend 249

What do you think?
Looks interesting to me, especially after long weeks of boring office colours. By the way it's the reason why it's so quiet in my blog. I'm all sunk in work, moreover I'm travelling. So, excuse me for that and greetings from Cairo :)

Not So Office

I'm tired to write how much I love American Apparel polishes. All of them, or at least all of those I have. However, the one I'm showing today - American Apparel Office - is the least beloved one, we had to struggle with each other before I managed to tame its tricky texture and it managed to finaly cover my nails and self-even on them. I won.

I'd never say this colour is perfectly suitable for office. For office full of designers or painters maybe. Buuut I still wore it to work... seems that my boss didn't really understand the cool idea of pale green on someone's nails hehe.

As I said, the formula was unexpectedly tricky for AA - I needed 3 coats and a top coat, otherwise it would be all bumpy and yuck. The colour is nice though - cold toned pale green. Below - some stamping with CG Custom Kicks.

What do you think about not so office Office? : )

Hey! DON'T Get In Lime!

Yea. Better for your moral integrity not to. Obviously I'm speaking about OPI Hey! Get In Lime! now. Please don't misunderstand me: the shade is super lovely and it's very long lasting (I'm wearing it for the 5th day now, I have not time to repaint my nails, studies, when will you end?) BUT the effort you have to make to actually lay it on your nails...ufff... Let's see:

Guess how many coats did I need? You won't. If you say 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 - that's gonna be wrong. From 3 to 5 is the right answer, on different fingers different number. Something like this is happening to me for the first time in my polish history.

Ah yes, the photos are with top coat: if not SV you would now be looking at bumpy weird things. Okay, let me be objective, there are 2 good things about this polish: 1) it dries fast, 2) thin brush (?!?! do I have a fake or what? OPI experts, could you explain me that? Some OPIs have this wide dinosaurbrush, and some a normal one?).

Such a mthfkr is this Get In Lime. But beautiful shade. But if I could choose now I'd buy some close dupe. Because of this damn formula I don't think I'll be using it soon again...

Some random stamping:

Voila.
Ladies, is it only me having problems with this one or it is like this by itself?

A Hint Of Mint

Being tired of "conventional" colours like reds, pinks and lilacs, I decided to resort to green. Nothing hard rocking, just a pleasant pastel greenish Essence A Hint Of Mint

In my opinion this shade is nice for spring, as well as its sisters from Essence Blossoms etc. LE, which to my shame I didn't try out yet except for the yellow one. Later on, I tried to be a bit creative and to do a gradient, but unfortunately it didn't lead to anything decent :(

(Essence A Hint Of Mint - 2 coats
sponged with Wet'n'Wild Carribean Frost
and China Glaze Atlantis)
But well, we all fail from time to time. Next time will be better :)

Swap №2

Remember I told you about my first experience in swapping? Well, I did one more exchange, this time direction South :) Probably some of you already know Akuma Kanji, a blogger who won my first giveaway.. After we've arranged the sending of the prize, word by word we agreed on a swap, and it was totally worth doing!! Look at my cute Portuguese newbies:

Left to right:
Andreia 3
Andreia 75
Cliché Khaki
Cliché Flash
Cliché Oliva
Yes Love 205 (what a brand name and what a bottle!!!)
Yes Love 629
Risqué Energia

What I liked is that all these colours are unique in my collection. In addition to this, my package was full of sweets, I think their aggregate volume even exceeded the volume of polishes :) :) The pack arrived yesterday morning, and it indeed made my day happy and sweet. Thank you so much, Akuma Kanji! :)

Of course the first thing I did after I read the note and ate a couple of sweets - I rushed to try out the cuties. Unfortunately, I encountered a problem: I seriously couldn't choose which to start with... After some time I made my mind. Ladies and gentlemen (are there any lol), let me introduce you Cliché Khaki:

Resume: this polish is amazing AMAZING AMAZING!!! Last autumn I was dying to have Chanel Khaki Vert, but I was never ready to pay the crazy amount it costed. Now I don't know how close would it be with Cliché Khaki and I don't care - the latter is more than enough for me!! No need to mention good application (I loved the brush) in 2 coats and a nice formula that makes this polish look NOT flat, otherwise it would kill all its beauty. I really hope all other polishes from this swap will make an equally good impression to me. Once again, BIG thanks to Akuma Kanji :) Swap, people, it's fun!! :)

Green Party

Tadaaaaaaaa!! Historic moment. For the first time in my lacoholic life (which is actually equal to my human life by duration) I'm wearing green. I mean SUCH kind of green - not pale pastel or smooth mint/Tiffany colour. Now a prehistory: some time ago I fell in love with China Glaze Atlantis, later I bought it, but never dared to try. Untill a moment when I got Wet N Wild Caribbean Frost polish as a freebie and thought that it would be a perfect base for Atlantis, cuz the last one is pretty sheer. How damn right I was!!! Look at this beauty:

Never in my life would I think that green would suit me so much and that I would adore it to a such extent! I'm positively surprised :) I've mentioned already that I'm to the joy of my wallet not very excited about holo polishes, but I am megaexcited about hologlitter! And of course, Atlantis is very close from getting into my top 10 polishes list. This nail polish is indeed a green party. When I was wearing it together with same coloured top, scarf, bracelet (on the photos) and earrings, my bf was joking that I can go directly to Die Grünen and they'd accept me as a member with no questions :) :)

So, what do you think about Atlantis? Do you have it? How do you generally treat green polishes?
