Marine Flowers

*planned post; me making a little excursion to Aegina*
Have I told you that I adore the combination of dark blue and white? Not because it's marine and blah, simply because I find it absolutely beautiful. So when I painted my nails with American Apparel Mount Royal, I already knew which colour I am going to stamp upon it! :)

Quickly-quickly as I just cut my nails I was in a hurry to use the original Konad plates!! Otherwise, some millimetres more and the designs on the plates will be too small to stamp :) So I grabbed a Konad plate m85 and stamped with Konad special polish in white. Oh, those good old times when I only had Konad plates with tiny designs, and had to double-stamp constantly... : {

I really liked the result myself, and I hope you will like it too!

And yea, I planned this post so that the day it will appear on the blog I am going to be in a place where the combination of white and blue is one the most beautiful in the world!... Santorini :)

Eternal Optimist

I perfectly remember that sunny spring day - yes, old swatches again - when I felt like wearing something bright or neon, but because of a damn meeting in the ministry the most I could "afford" on my nails is a muted nude. So I chose Essie Eternal Optimist, which I personally refer to the category of "nude but not nude" polishes.

What is special about this polish, is more the name than the colour. Although under "Eternal Optimist" I would more envisage some crazy pink neon shade, I still like it because this is exactly how my friends call me, lol.

The colour, on the contrary, is not very optimistic - it's a beige-pink nude creme, and not the easiest one to work with. If you are lucky, you'll get away with 2 coats, if not - 3.

Moments when I like the colour of Eternal Optimist the most is when it occurs to be under the cold day light. Then it shows the drop of its purple undertone, which is so flattering for my skin tone:

After a long day, when I was finally home, I decided at least to make some stamping to spoil the calmness of the colour. Here it is, done with Catrice Plum Play With Me, as far as I remember.

Unfortunately, it turned out too subtle too, and so not matching my demand for intense colours. Well, maybe that's why I'm posting it now - when I took the pics, I didn't like this mani. Now I do. Eh, time changes everything : )

Multicolour Stamping

Experimenting with multicolour stamping this time.. The idea came to me suddenly, the colour combination as well. Very possibly inspired by the trip : )

The stamping is done with Konad plate m85 over Sally Hansen White On (very poor formula as for a white polish, by the way..), the pattern is stamped with China Glaze 2030, Victoria Shu #16 and Manhattan 77Z. HOW to do such a multicolour design - see here, for example. Quite easy, actually.. and I love the technique :)

Before I did this, I was wearing pure white on my nails for a day.. Looks amazing in summer! Totally recommending : )

Oliva...Really?

Do the green olives in Portugal have this colour like Cliché Oliva which I am showing on my nails today? If yes, then I'm impressed, because I normally perceive something else under "green olive" shade : ) Anyway, a controversial name does not make the polish itself less attractive. Moreover, this bottle is very special for me, it's absolutely impossible to get here in Germany and that's why it made all its way from Portugal sent by Akuma Kanji in one of our swaps

Arguing with the manufacturer, I would say it's a green bottle glass shade with a peculiar texture, a special outstanding feature of Cliché polishes. Super glossy and glassy (no topcoat on the pictures!), easy to handle (2 coater, I applied 3 to get a deeper colour) and gorgeous looking. What else to want from a polish? Thank you, Akuma Kanji!!! =)

Please don't think that I missed a chance to stamp on such a great base ^^ I applied a pattern from a newly bought m85 plate:

What do you think about "Oliva"? How about such green shades?
