Ninja Polish: Ambrosia, Divinity, Shillelagh

Heyo! Today I'm posting a massive entry because I'll be showing 3 polishes at once - all those Ninja Polishes that I own. Last autumn I was lucky enough to win a giveaway of Good Lack, Nail! blog and Caroline sent me my 3 Ninja prizes together with other beauties.

Here they are bellow, all stemming from Enigma Collection, all three beautiful as hell: left to right below you see Divinity, Ambrosia and Shillelagh.

Ninja polish Enigma

As you know, Ninja polishes are mostly complex unusual colours, so I had two problems related to swatching them. Firstly, there was not enough daylight (I was swatching in autumn) and secondly, I didn't use a top coat on Ambrosia and Shillelagh, so I maybe didn't show all the possible colour shifts. In any case, no camera would picture them as real and beautiful as they are live :)

Ninja polish Enigma collection

Let me start with the most prominent out of these 3 - Divinity.

Ninja polish Divinity

Divinity is a bordeaux/purple jelly base with a magic shimmer. Yes, magic, because I wouldn't describe it with one single colour. The shimmer creates a multichromal effect - from deep burgundy red to gold and sometimes green - so amusing to watch! The colour shift effect is strong, so you will not need a microscope to observe it :)

The application was mmmnot so easy-peasy, I couldn't cope with the wide brush that well, but in the end I won :) Unlike Clarins 230 and other similar unicorn pees, Divinity is opaque in 2 thick coats. The polish has rather a satin finish and definitely needs a top coat, only then you see the full beauty of the colour metamorphoses.

The next polish is Ambrosia, and on this one my camera freaked out completely :) I would also freak out on such a beauty, would I be in my camera's position.

Ninja polish Ambrosia

Ambrosia is a vibrant red with golden shimmer, and the shimmer changes the base colour from pink to red depending on the light and the view angle. Also a nice colour transition, but not as intense as in Divinity.

The application was ok after I figured out that I have to carry more polish on a brush, otherwise there are bald spots. The opacity is good, 2 coats are enough. Oh, and it definitely needs a top coat. Which I didn't apply. My bad.

And the last one, and my most favourite of the three is Shillelagh. It's such a cool word, too.

Ninja polish Shillelagh

Shillelagh is an intense green shade with shimmer ...of I don't which colour. Inbetween bronze and gold, maybe, but also with a green hint. I'm telling you, these polishes contain some magic in them :) Less poetically, the colour reminds of a June bug.

The application was challenging, the formula is quite liquid and the polish was trying to get under the cuticles and where not, but I managed to layer it in 2 coats. Again, the top coat is necessary but missing (on the pics).

Sooo how do you like those? Which do you think is the coolest one? :)
Do you have any Ninjas in your stash?

Green Grass and Shining Sun

... - it's not me being poetic, it's the name of the polish from El Corazón Spring 2014 collection called "Dreams of Spring". To be even more precise, the name is translated as "The grass is green and the sun is shining" (№07) and I decided that NOW is exactly the right season and time to wear it.

El Corazon Грезы о весне

El Corazon Грезы о весне

El Corazón Green Grass and Shining Sun is a bright green creme packed with dense but tiny blue shimmer, which paradoxically, doesn't shimmer at all - it appears rather matt. Nevertheless, it's due to this unshimmerable shimmer that the polish looks interesting - and unique.

The application was more than pleasant. The polish is very opaque, so 1 coat can be enough. I applied 2 coats to wear it longer but I didn't use the top coat - there was no need. It dries well and has a "plastic gloss finish" - I can't describe it better, haha.

Below I tried to capture that shimmer that is present in every polish of the collection. And on the photo above you can see that despite the tiny size of the shimmer, it's still visible from afar.

What is also notable, the overall undertone of the shade is cold, so it was not making my hands look like lobster, which is an important thing in green polishes for me.

Just to let you know: I have 2 other polishes from this collection and I'll be showing them soon! :)

Magic Tenderness

You know, since recently I am really into polishes that fit within the borders of "dress code appropriate", but at the same time are "with a twist". Wearing pinks and reds to work everyday is boring, and today I'm showing quite an interesting substitute for those "commonly accepted" business colours - El Corazón #423/558 Magic Tenderness.

El Corazón #423/558 Magic Tenderness is a pretty pinkish lilac with glimmering pink glitter. I couldn't describe it in a better way, hehe, sorry :D The application is really easy, although the polish formula is on the sheer side, and you need 3 coats to cover the VNL. It dries well though.

When I just got this shade, I didn't realise that it's pretty unique. The shimmer creates that duochrome effect - from pink to lilac, and the shimmer sparkles under the sun so nicely. It's a pity I couldn't capture it during these gloomy winter days, but you can trust me on that.

I hope you liked it just like I did? :)

Love Bug

As an "afterparty" post to the St. Valentine's day manicure, I'm showing not less "sweet", and of course a pink, polish - BB Couture Love Bug. A sweet name is included, as you see.

BB Couture Love Bug

Apart from a sweet name and exterier, BB Couture Love Bug has an interesting formula: it's a pink (I'd say Barbie pink) jelly with golden shimmer. The shimmer particles are big and therefore quite noticeable, they sparkle under the sun occasionally. On the photo below I hopefully managed to capture that it looks like syrup a bit... I love this effect.

By the way, this is my one and only BB Couture polish - a lonely bottle in a huge stash :) And even this one I'd never hope to get if it was not for Caroline and her help. Thank you so much! ;)

As for the colour, I liked how it looks on my nails. Pinks suit me, and I love them in return - I won't go in circles around this fact. This dolly shade makes you feel younger, although I AM quite young :)

Would you wear such a "princess shade"? :)

Happy Holidays!

Sorry for my long absence. My fears turned out to be true, work eats up all the time, besides, I was away for New Year's. Just got back from Istanbul, trying to organise stuff in a new flat (I just moved), gather up for work, and to finally devote some time to my beloved blog.

To begin with, I wish you all happy holidays: Happy New Year, Merry Orthodox and Catholic Cristmas, happy time away from work ;) And to start this blogging year I have chosen a nice festive polish that I was also wearing during the holiday time: El Corazón Magic Kiss of Venus #423/570

El Corazon Magic Kiss Of Venus

El Corazon Magic Kiss Of Venus

El Corazón Magic Kiss of Venus #423/570 is a raspberry based shade with pink and a bit of golden shimmer. The polish is very opaque, even 1 coat is enough if you are in a hurry but I layered 2. The application is really easy, even with the thick EC brush.

El Corazon Magic Kiss Of Venus

The shade was very tricky and hard to catch with the camera, but I did my best. I actually got this polish after seeing the swatches of another blogger... and it turned out to be completely different in reality :{ But I'm not disappointed at all. Now looking at my pictures I got the idea to try it with a matte top coat as well.

Jeansy Blue

The shade I will never be bored of is jeans blue. I have around 5 polishes of this type in my stash and something tells me some more will appear in the future :) So, what you see today is one of them, the jeansy Pupa #726:

Pupa 726

Pupa nail polish 726

Pupa #726 is a middle blue shade with abundant blue shimmer, which makes the polish look like jeans denim. Application was pleasant, 2 easy coats and a very nice consistency - not goopy, not runny. Pupa polishes generally apply nicely, I find. Also, I recommend using a top coat for extra gloss.

Pupa 726 swatch

Pupa 726

Surprisingly, there are not so many swatches of this polish published in the internet, although the shade is really nice - so is the quality. I don't know if my camera did the justice to the polish, but it's the best I could shoot in the damn full absence of the day light. What I also like about all these jeansy polishes is that they look good in any time of the year.

Actually, this bottle was a present from my friend who doesn't have much idea of all the polish variety in the world, but she knows I like special shades. That's why it was a big pleasant surprise for me, because she just managed to hit the mark regarding my taste :)
