Today I'm officially proud of myself - I tried water marbling for the first time, yuppeee!! So there is one tag more in my blog now : ) To be honest, my first attempt was a disaster, everything went wrong from the very beginning.. and instead of the initial idea to create a cute 'flower marble' look, I got something that reminds either of sea foam, or of malachite. You choose : )
The base colour is Avon Aqua Fantasy - a turquoise creme with silver nanoshimmer. The latter is practically invisible and just gives the polish a pearly touch. Unfortunately, I didn't take the swatches of the polish alone - I'll leave it for the next time. I just can say that it's a totally pleasant one in texture and application.. and in terms of colour too, of course.
As for the marble, I was using Cliché Espuma, Andreia #3, Essence I Like and OPI Jade Is The New Black. As I said, it went awful: the polishes didn't want to spread within the glass, I couldn't create any nice pattern with a wooden stick because it would drag the whole film of polish. Conclusion: I need more practice : )
Girls, do you have any tips and tricks regarding water marble? I would be really grateful! : )
I've only ever tried it twice myself, and my attempts didn't look anywhere as nice as yours :D
AntwortenLöschenThank you!! I'm actually surprised myself with the final outcome, because from how it looked like in the glass - I wasn't expecting anything decent.. :)
LöschenYour 'water marbling' nail design is pretty cool! I will try it out soon. Keep on posting :)
AntwortenLöschenThank you! I think it's a nice technique to try, but it requires a lot of patience.. :)
LöschenI think your water marble attempt turned out really interesting, due to the color choice I thought at once it looked like malachites! =) So, I've just read today on a post of a Brazilian blogger that she finds the technique to work better when using NP of the same brand and finish (creme with creme, frost with frost and so on). She even dipped her whole hand at once and the results were pretty nice! I myself find the process a wee too messy for my taste. Perhaps if I'd do it just on a single nail of each hand...
AntwortenLöschenThank you for your comment! :)
LöschenI also read that it's better to use the polishes of the same brand, and for many bloggers China Glaze work good. Next time I'll try with Chinas.. By the way, the process is much less mess than I expected (a bit more messy than stamping, for example), plus I was using the tape to protect fingers. But the result was so unpredictable each time, so I just did the marbling on 2 fingers of each hand :) Accent finger is also a great idea!
Обалденно! Мне очень нравится и сочетание и эффект камня - действительно на малахит похоже:))
AntwortenLöschenСпасибо :) Народ разделился на 2 группы: кому малахит, а кому морская пена видится :)
LöschenI'm so bad at watermarble, that's disappointing lol ! yours is PERFECT, it's random, like sea foam, you're right ! really love it!
AntwortenLöschenThank you!! As you see, I'm not a professional in water marbling either.. I guess we both need practice to make it perfect :)
LöschenHa quedado un efecto precioso y la combinación de colores es espectacular. ¡Me encanta!
AntwortenLöschenMuchas gracias! Me alegra que te guste! :)
Löschenwow beautiful malachite effect! I like it :)
AntwortenLöschenand tbh my first attempt at water marbling was a disaster as well :D
the main idea I got after my water marbling experiments - it's quite hard to create an exact effect you would like to get on your nails, especially if you are a beginner (and I am), it's a very unpredictable technique.. :)
Thanks, I'm glad you like it! :) Oh, unpredictable technique - that's for sure! I feel that I have a whole new world to explore in the area of water marbling! :)
LöschenMy first water marbling was a malachite effect, too, but i was aiming at it :)) I love yours, looks like if it was a cross-section of the stone ^^
AntwortenLöschenWow, nice coincidence :) And I'm glad you like my first attempt! :)
LöschenI like the effect you dot. I've tried water marbling but I was never successful, my polishes just don't want to spread and I couldn't figure out why
AntwortenLöschenThanks! It was the same with me - the polishes didn't want to spread :( So I had to shake the glass every time lol
LöschenOHMG that is beautiful, really looks like malachite - well done!!
AntwortenLöschenThank you!! So you see malachite too.. that's good! :)
LöschenI like the result so much!!
AntwortenLöschenThank you, Sona! :)
LöschenMy first, second, third and you can go on, attempts at water marble all failed miserably. I have yet to decide if I want to quit trying or not!
AntwortenLöschenAnyway, I love the look of yours, exactly as you said, it reminds me of a stone, might be malachite or else, don't ask me because I won't know the names! But it definitely gave me that idea, and I love it!
Beautiful and love the colors.
AntwortenLöschenУ тебя что ни маникюр, то шедевр. Очень нравится, как ты дизайн подбираешь, очень продуманно и в меру всего. Из-за этого , наверное, и впечатление совсем другое производит.
AntwortenLöschenHow could you call this a disaster!!?? this is GORGEOUS is the first time I see marble nails that actually look like real marble!I adoooore this and the shades are so lovely together! It's like wearing stones on your fingernails AWESOME!
