Winter Duo

As much as I love wearing duo manicures, I hate photographing them. Duos are all about showing both hands, and this is quite hard to do without additional help. Help option number one aka bf was not available, so I resorted to the option #2 - a newly bought tripod. Tripod is really a helping hand (or better, a helping leg) for a nail blogger, but when the day is gloomy and dark - so will be the photos.

Anyway, you got it: the pics are far from perfection and they are few. Now to the polishes: for this duo I used two shades of Miss CopBleu Délavé from Les Blues Jeans collection and Anis Étoilé from Les Pearls & Pop. Yes, they have collections and even names! Pretty cool for 2€ brand :)

Both shades - light dusty blue and mint - are packed with silver shimmer, which is THE reason I love this brand. Airy texture is another reason, but it has a downside of quasi tip wear effect even right after the application. Oh, and the application by itself is pretty easy - I layered 2 coats of each polish.

So, what's your attitude to duo manis? :)

Surprise Pack #2

Continuing my reports about the Xmas packs I got, I would like to show you a bit of awesomeness that came from Portugal (yes yes, again!) and that was a total surprise for me!!! Once last autumn a lovely girl with a lovely name Dulce contacted me and asked for help in getting one polish from Germany she wanted. So I did, and to thank me for that (!) she sent me the whole pack of beautiful things!!!!!!! How great is that?!

Moreover, she didn't just send whatever, but the Miss Cop polishes I liked so much! Yes, those mysterious ones I got from Hamburg regretting that I didn't buy more!

And if you think that's all she sent... NO! I also got a whole bunch of nice stuff: nail art supplies, cosmetics and a wonderful felt flower : )

After considering which polish to start with (it was hard!!), I grabbed Miss Cop Les Blue Jeans #02 Bleu Vintage - a dusty blue shade. Just like its fellows from Les Blue Jeans collection, it's all packed with silver shimmer and applies nicely in 2 coats. The formula was a bit goopy though, I may use the thinner next time.

Look, girls, I really don't know what's the story behind these Miss Cop polishes, why no one knows about them, and why they appear randomly here in there in different countries... but I can tell you one thing: once you spot them - grab them!!

Again, attempts to make macroshots without a proper camera.. : ) Just for you to see this silver shimmer.

Dear Dulce, it's hard to express how grateful I am - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! And beware, something might arrive to you as unexpected as it did to me ; ) ; ) ; )

Hamburg Haul

For years now I've been sure that Germany cannot surprise me anymore in terms of nail polish assortment  I had a firm belief that I saw and fiddled around with each and every brand Germany offers in its shops, or at least knew where to get what. And that from city to city the assortment of polishes doesn't differ much. I was wrong.

Surprise came when I happened to be in Hamburg for a weekend. German girls know that there are no DMs in Hamburg, they have Budnis instead. I've never been to any Budni before, so I decided to peep in and see the difference between DM's and Budni's assortment  First thing I noticed: Debby polishes! I never saw them in Germany before, and even less expected to encounter the Italian polishes in the north of Germany. Moreover, I also detected Bourjous and something called Black Bird. After that, I was passing by a little indie shop and spotted some brand called Miss Cop with really pretty shades! So I grabbed 2 of those + a Debby polish from Budni:

Miss Cop Les Blue Jeans #05, Debby ColorPlay #125, Miss Cop Les Blue Jeans #04

The first polish I'll show is Miss Cop Les Blue Jeans #05, typical 'jeans' shade. That is, a dark blue foil composed of blue and silver shimmer. Formula was a bit thick and not so easy to manage, but opaque in 2 coats already. I confess, I have a crush on jeans shades : )

And then later I mattified it (which I often do with such textures) and I was very happy with the result:

The second polish, Miss Cop Les Blue Jeans #04, just won my heart with the first stroke! It's a baby blue semi-jelly with 'sugar effect' finish - packed with white/silver shimmer. Also not so easy to apply because of its thickness, but for THIS shade I'm ready to forgive whatever difficulties! Amazingly, I don't have anything similar in my stash.

And this is exactly the polish I was featuring in my previous post about Firmoo sunglasses. There you saw it in matte version, in this post I'm showing it as it is, without a top coat even.

The last polish from the Hamburg haul - Debby ColorPlay #125 - is coming up next. In a quite interesting combination. You'll see :)

Now, girls, please tell me if you know anything about this brand, Miss Cop. Is it sold in your country? Do you have any Miss Cop polishes?
