March Snow

Guess what? It's snowing in St. Peters! And not just a couple of snowflakes, but myriads of them falling heavily. Well, hello spring, I saw snow in May as well ;) This time the weather affected my choice of polish: instead of picking one of the pastels and corals that I prepared for wearing in the next days/weeks, I decided to put on this snowy thing - El Corazón Confetti 531a.

El Corazón Confetti 531a

Эль Коразон Confetti 531a

El Corazón Confetti 531a is white tiny glitter floating in a clear base. As simple as that. But how damn unique, no? I personally don't remember of any similar polish. If China Glaze There's Snow One Like You looks as a gross snowdrift, Confetti 531a rather reminds a thin layer of tiny snowflakes.

Be aware of the application though: it's not easy. It took me some time to figure out that this polish does not need a 3rd coat, neither a top coat. On the pictures you see 2 thin coats - they dry neither glossy nor matte, smth inbetween :) Oh, and about drying time - you'll have to be patient. To shorten the time and to smooth out the look, you'll have to apply thin coats.

As much as I liked the "snow look", the next day I decided to upgrade it somehow, and thought that one of the best suiting options for white is gold. So I sponged some Essence Make It Golden on the tips.

Essence Make It Golden

I remember the times when there was a huge hype over Essence Make It Golden, both because it's a great polish and because it's a good substitute of Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow. It's such a pity that Essence is discontinued... and my tiny bottle is half-empty.

Anyway, I loved both looks. How about you? :)
*The nail polish was kindly provided by El Corazón company for my consideration. In this post I expressed my honest and unbiased opinion about the product.

Hopping&Sponging

For some unknown reason this manicure was lingering in the drafts for years... you can see it by the length of my nails - I do not wear them so long any more :D Anyways, it's never too late to show a classical sponging mani in even more classic colours: mauve+gold.

Base colour is 2 coats of Essie Island Hopping - a nice mauve that I get bored of very easily. After applying it I sponged Andreia #93, gold glitter in a transparent base, on top. Ready.

Finally I think I've chosen the right time to show this manicure - autumn/spring. Probably this is why it was always a draft - there was no right moment for it in summer or spring :)

Do you like sponged tips? I think it's one of the coolest and easiest designs for all times, no? :)

Manhattan Grad

Long time no sponging...right? : ) I honestly missed it. It's such a cool and easy technique, which gives amazing effects on nails, but I somehow ignored it lately. Well, now is the time to catch up!

On the pics you see Manhattan 78J sponged with Amour Blue Glitter and some strokes of Wet'n'Wild Kaleidoscope. It actually took me 5 minutes to create all this : )

Of course, I'll show the base polish - Manhattan 78J - by itself too. Might be irrelevant, because it's from an old Manhattan&Buffalo LE, but the shade is very pretty. When I was buying it, I was sure it would be a neon blue. But no! It's a bright, "electric" blue summer colour, but not neon. Which is perfect for me. Actually, THIS is the colour I expected OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui to be, and not a boring teal.

One more last thing.. I cut one of my fingers really badly, and originally these swatches included a big bloody wound as well, lol. But thanks heaven, with our modern apps&tools it was quite easy to erase it in 2 clicks. I'm just curious.. can you see anything? Which finger did I cut? :) :)

Pixie Dust

Totally not sure if I chose the right time to wear this polish, I rather envisage it on my nails during a rainy spring day.. but I just couldn't look at this untried beauty anymore: Orly Pixie Dust.

I even added some snowy topping:

The polish by itself is just wonderful: dusty light grey packed with silver shimmer with a nice texture (2 coats on all pictures). But all 3 days that I was wearing it I was hanging around at Christmas market with my friends guzzling down Glühwein and having fun. I mean, grey polish and an atmosphere like this:

Next time I'll be more careful with matching events/mood/surrounding and a polish *went to find CG Ruby Pumps*. I'll certainly give Pixie Dust another chance in spring though : )

Cloudy Blue

As promised, showing you KIKO 339 Fiordaliso, the "cloudy blue", as one of my readers, Kim, has described it. Nothing to add here: gorgeous airy sky-blue creme with periwinkle undertone with a glossy finish (no top coat on the photos!). Application was easy: 2 coats over my favourite Nail Tek Foundation (this time III, not II). The brush was a tiny bit too wide for me, but no big complaints here either.

And some attempts to recreate the cloth's pattern by sponging:
