Golden Nude

It's harsh winter around here and I really didn't have any wish to repaint my nails, because any colour would look crippled on bright red fingers - which I had because of the frost. Finally the temperature became human friendly again, and I realised that I want nude nails, so I painted them with Yes Love #629, a nice beige shade. But after 2 days I got bored a bit, and decided to make the nude festive - with Milani Gold

Milani Gold

Milani Gold

Milani Gold is a gold glitter in the shape of hexagons in a clear base. The glitter particles are quite large and the DO stand out on the nails, even if painted over a nude. I wouldn't say that it was easy to spread the goldinis over the nails, but my bottle is pretty old, and the polish might have dried up a bit.

Milani Gold

I was wearing this combination on the weekend, so I didn't really care if it was too much for work. Even though we don't have nails dress code, lol.

Just for you to see the other combinations with Milani Gold - here are the swatches over dark blue, turquoise, and gold (!). I hope you enjoyed it! :)

Crazy Giraffe Nails

As promised in the previous post, I'll show my only and not-very-much-loved magnetic polish as a stamping polish. When I use it this way, I like it much better :) So, meet the crazy giraffe nails!

giraffe manicure

The crazy nails of today's post are created with 3 coats of tear_your_eyes_off lime polish - Yes Love Y74 - shown here earlier, stamped with BM-313 plate and the inglorious Flormar Magnetic Twist MG02. Inglorious cuz it's magnetic.

This combination looks quite schizophrenic, I know, but I was wearing it in summer so it looked more balanced out.

The moral of this post is very simple: if you don't like your magnetic polishes but you happen to own them - try them for stamping! Or other nail art. You might like them a little more after that :)

Lime Yellow

*planned post; me having the most romantic moments in life on Santorini*
Let's talk about... limes! My opinion is still undefined: I like gazing at the other people's swatches of lime polishes, but myself... I wear them like once per year. Do you like lime shades? Do you have many lime polishes in your stash? I have... one, and I got it as an extra in my swap with Akuma Kanji, so I didn't even buy it myself lol. Here I'm talking about Yes Love Y74!

Yes Love Y74

Yes Love Y74

Yes Love Y74 is a... hard to describe shade, not yet a green lime, but already not a yellow lemon. Yelime lol. Bright and in-your-face shade. The texture is creme, no shimmer attached.

Unfortunately, I have to mention the formula, which was a... disaster :{ I barely managed to fight it in 3 coats, the polish is streaky as hell, I didn't even expect such a challenging application. Oh, and forget about self-evening: without a top coat it looks like hilly terrain. Hard times I had while applying it, that's the truth.

The sun suits this polish a lot, I felt like my nails were illuminated. I also got some reactions from other people saying: "oh, what a brightie!!" :)

I have to admit that this colour is damn unique in my stash, and that I'm glad that I have it. If my swap buddy, Akuma Kanji, didn't put it in the package, I would never buy such a shade myself - AND I would lose a lot of fun!! So thank you, D.!! : )

If I wear lime, it means that I'm in the mood to do so. Yes, I do believe that such shades require a suitable mood, only then you feel them harmonic on your nails :) Right? Or you don't need any special courage to wear a bright lime polish? :)

Paisley

Second time I am trying out my Bundle Monster plates. The positive impression only becomes more positive! Seriously, even the designes with fine details stamp very well. Such as this paisley pattern on BM-315, or as I normally call it - "cucumbaaa" : )

And just to be precise, the base colour you see is NOT black. Yes Love #504 is a dark dark dark aubergine shade, which - to my big surprise dried matte! Like this:

Then I looked at it for some minutes, and generously poured with top coat. I think I like it better this way :)

And finally, it's my first and only shade which is black_but _not_really_black.. Myself I wouldn't probably buy it. But lovely Akuma Kanji sent it to me as an extra in our swap, and I'm really greatful for her choice, because all in all I liked how it looks on me - also nice on toes in winter :)

Yes Love! Yes Glitter!

What an enjoyable name for a nail brand - Yes Love.. : ) Inspiring and positive, no?
The same I could say so far about my experience with their polishes. Always positive. Another proof of that: Yes Love 39. It arrived together with its compatriots in a swap pack from Akuma Kanji

Modest look and a nice subtle colour. Somewhere in between pink and lilac. "Like". Application was tricky though, I needed 3 coats. The formula was a bit runny, the brush is quite good.

After wearing the polish plain for a day I remembered about one weirdo I have in my stash. The creature named BK Deluxe 55 was born (I believe) somewhere on the spacious lands of China. I'm not sure. Judging by its smell, it contains all chemical elements ever known to the human kind.

Nails covered with this polish look like covered with trash particles or pieces of some glittery remnants of wrapping paper =) But exactly because of this "trashy" look I liked this mani, it made me smile :)

Ladies! Tell me about the weirdos of your collections :)

Cirque du Glitter

Howdy, my dear readers :) Currently I keep on trying out the freshly arrived polishes from my latest swap, and so far I have only positive impressions. Right after the awesome Khaki I decided to turn to calm colours again and polished my nails with a nude which was nicely included in a swap as an extra. Very nice extra, I should say! :)

I should confess that before the swap I had only nude (beige nude I mean) polish in my stash - Color Club Who Are You Wearing, with which I have very complicated relationship. By itself it's a nice colour, but it make my hands look like a manikin and the application in 4 coats is just driving me insane. On the contrary, Yes Love 629 (they should come up with names, not numbers grrr) which I've received recently passes my skintone much better and the application is easy and pleasant! Thus I wore it for a day enjoying the colour and then decided to play around with still untried Milani Gems:

(Used products: Yes Love 629 - 2 coats + Milani Gems - 1 coat)
I did a mistake not to swatch the polish alone, but I liked it really much so I'm definitely gonna wear it again :)

What concerns the glitter: I'd say these "Gems" are rather a circus in a bottle.. No doubt they are weird and funny and most of my friends were starring at my nails these days, but I just can't get used to them :)
What would you say? Too colourful? Do you have Gems or their sisters (Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday, Wet'n'Wild Party of Five Glitters etc.)?
