Sheer Your Toys!

After all the holiday turmoil I realised that I'm craving for soft calm shades, and most of all - for grey. In my stash there are only a few grey polishes, and today I'll show one of them. OPI "Sheer" Your Toys! is however not a simple plain grey, but a shade "with a twist" : )

Besides being a middle grey shade with a touch (!) of pearly finish, OPI "Sheer" Your Toys! also contains copper colour particles. Those are not really visible in reality, but they do turn this polish into something special, at least for me. The application is smooth, 2 easy and thin coats. Even the wide brush (which I hate in OPI polishes) couldn't spoil it.

And finally, I like to combine grey with white. Otherwise simply grey with grey, as I wear a lot of grey clothes.

And I still keep craving for OPI You're A Doll from the same collection. The secret copper shimmer is something that totally attracts me : )

Cooperative Dotting

Humpty Dumpty

Are you familiar with a situation when you have been lemming a polish for ages, then suddenly you get it, you are crazily happy and then... the polish keeps standing on a shelf for a year, untried. Surely some of you do : ) Just like me sometimes.. Essence Humpty Dumpty was exactly this case. Last winter I totally missed this Fairytale LE of Essence and then I was mad at myself later when I realised I want it ALL. Got most of the polishes from a blog sale later. Tried 2 out of 4 so far *whistling*

Totally love the bottles of this edition. The colours too, but... I have major difficulties with describing them. By texture they are all foils, that's pretty clear.. And the shade..uhh. You know what? See yourself:  :)

The formula of this one was nice: 2 easy coats and here we go. But oh well, the colour...Dark grey with a purplish hue and intense silver shimmer? Something like that? Would love to hear your version : )

Kelly Psychedelly

It's not that often that I'm in the mood for such colours, but sometimes I feel like having grey and muddy nails. Painted with Zoya Kelly, for example. 

Nothing much to say, it's all been said and described. Dark grey creme with a dusty touch, covers the nails perfectly in 1 coat, although there are 2 on the pictures. Perfection, if you are okay with the colour. I was, it looked pretty stylish on short nails =) 

Later, when I fully enjoyed the pure colour for some days I stamped it with a kinda psychedelic Konad pattern that I never used before: 

What do you think about such colours? Cool and trendy or just too gloomy?

Pixie Dust

Totally not sure if I chose the right time to wear this polish, I rather envisage it on my nails during a rainy spring day.. but I just couldn't look at this untried beauty anymore: Orly Pixie Dust.

I even added some snowy topping:

The polish by itself is just wonderful: dusty light grey packed with silver shimmer with a nice texture (2 coats on all pictures). But all 3 days that I was wearing it I was hanging around at Christmas market with my friends guzzling down Glühwein and having fun. I mean, grey polish and an atmosphere like this:

Next time I'll be more careful with matching events/mood/surrounding and a polish *went to find CG Ruby Pumps*. I'll certainly give Pixie Dust another chance in spring though : )

Asphalt On My Nails

Studies are practically over, but I still don't have enough time for myself, including my nails... That's why when I was picking the next polish I wanted something fast-drying, fine-applying, interesting and nice-looking. Milani Silver Dazzle from One Coat Glitter series is one of those winners that passed under that description: 

Indoor it looks a calm grey semi-matte..

but under the sun it goes cosmic, turning into sparkly alien beauty.

By the way it's a liar-polish. Milani One Coat Glitter needs two coats in reality.

The grey stuff I'm holding is a skirt I was wearing it with. Although it's summer and sunny and most of the girls have red-pink-orange nails, I got a bunch of compliments from my friends : )

And a close up. As you see, the glitter coverage is dense. And shiny!

Do you have Milani's "one coat" glitters? Are they really one-coaters in your case?

Master Nails

Ha, you can interpret the header in many ways, but what I mean is that these manicure is different from all previous ones because it is done by a person with a Master degree : ) By me. I finally submitted my thesis and graduated yesterday. For this reason I was posting so rarely lately, I was extremely busy. I still am, but the main headache is gone. Okay, now to the nails: 

For my G-day (graduation, that is) I was wearing Color Club Pretty In Platinum topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust. Together with black dress it looked pretty, indeed.

Pretty in Platinum wasn't as good as I expected, to be honest, mostly because of visible brush strokes. I didn't even make swatches of it alone, I'll revert to that some other time.

On the last pic I managed to catch the magnificent spakles of Fairy Dust. I just love this holoshine, it's amazing!!
