Pastel Pink + Dots n Bows

It's been a while that I haven't shown any cute pink polishes and manicures.. Especially taking into account that I really like them! And I normally wear pinks all year round, there is no right or wrong season for this colour. That's why I was happy when I remembered that I have a nice pink pastel in the box of untrieds: Avon Pastel Pink, which I got thanks to lovely Antallex : ) And dots and bows, they neither need any special season or weather to wear!

But first a couple of words about the base colour.. Avon Pastel Pink is a pale pink creme with a strong touch of white - exactly what we call "baby pink". However, this baby pink doesn't tend to have a baby easy application: it's a 2-coater, but one has to struggle not to leave bald spots on nails. In the "best" traditions of opaque pastel cremes that is.. Impossible is nothing though : )

Because I have so many pastel pinks in my stash, and because Antallex asked me to, I made a comparison of pale pinks. The closest I got to Avon Pastel Pink is AA Coney Island, Pupa #202 is only close colour-wise, although it has a totally different jelly texture.

And now is the time for excessive cuteness : ) I added white dots with a dotting tool, and stamped the bow with m59 plate. Pink rhinestone to make it all even cuter : )

Christmas Nails

Since some years I celebrate Christmas twice per year - it was weird in the beginning, but then I realised that two times more wishes and Xmas dinners and pleasant moments is just better than one : ) So I'm publishing a Christmas post today too : )

For me the main Christmas colours are red, gold and a bit of green. A bit of green will follow later and today I'll stick to traditional red+gold. As a base I painted Milani Red Sparkle, a gorgeous red glitter. Very opaque - you can get away with 1 coat already (I applied 2 just for longevity).

Milani Red Sparkle

Milani Red Sparkle dries with satin-matte effect, which I rather like. I usually wear it for a day as it is, and then add a layer of top coat. Compare the finish below...

without top coat..                                              and with top coat.

I assume you see the difference : ) Covered with a top coat, this polish transforms into a completely different story: the glitter particles look as if they are lit form within - very beautiful effect.

And then I decided to turn red sparkles to wrapped gifts nails by stamping them with CG 2030 and plates m59 and BM-317. Not the best result ever, but looks ok from far away : )

And finally, to all those who celebrate it today:

Chirp Chirp

Little chirp chirps are not here yet, but at list I can show you the polish - Essence Chirp, Chirp! from Naturventurista LE. I honestly don't know what it has to do with the birds, but oh well, we have seen so many other random names.

The case with this polish was - I'm sure - familiar to many of you: I was passing by it hundred times in the shops, until I accidentially saw beautiful swatches of it in Antallex's blog. After that I couldn't resist : ) To my luck, it was also discounted:

The colour is hard to describe: light beige with a touch of green and subtle pink (!) shimmer. A more precise description from my bf: "a colour of US airplanes which are designed for battles in the desert". I doubt they had pink shimmer though : )

The formula was okay, demanding a bit of attention but nothing extra difficult. On the pics you see 3 coats which dried pretty fast.

Here here here! I caught the mysterious shimmer!!! : )

As I was reluctant to stamp over this winner shade, I just made an accent finger with konad, rhinestones and a dotter:

Interesting shade, don't you find?

Pre-V

To be very honest, I was just testing a new Konad plate, but accidentally it turned out like St. Valentine's Day style manicure - well and good, I'll show it : )

Used products:
Base polish: OPI Flower-To-Flower
Konad image plate: m59
Stamping polish: American Apparel Berry

Wearing this I felt a bit childish, but the funny thing is that exactly for this mani I got a compliment from a 50+ y.o. lady who works in our office canteen ; ) ; ) Should mean something then : )

Dreams Come True!!...

...and you start to believe in eternal justice when suddenly your polish lemmings fall on your head. So happened to me recently, when I unexpectedly got China Glaze Frosty from Sonidlo. Since last Christmas (LOL I just found Sona's post in December 2010 and me commenting that I love this polish) I was slobbering over Frosty and Party Hearty having no idea how to get them, but now that I do I'm happy : )

Frosty is a white shimmer polish, totally winter shade. However, it's pretty tricky, too: if you are lucky, you will get "frozen" or "Snow White" nails, if not - red lobster hands. I was lucky in real life, but my camera decided to play some bad joke and was giving me crimson fingers, so I had hard times with shooting the photos. Oh, I'll be fair, the application was neither so easy: I needed 3 coats to get the VNL covered, and I wouldn't say Frosty dries super fast. But I was aware of it because I read so many reviews before : ) Shall we see the polish?

Actually I did some snowy-themed stamping too, but it turned out waaaaay too subtle. One can barely see it:

No doubt, Frosty is one the winter-friendly polishes ever but...no idea why, I want to try it in summer on tanned hands.. : ) Just as an experiment.
