Purple Medallion

*planned post; me packing my stuff to go home*
Although I have already posted about Studio M Purple Medallion, I decided to write another post. Not simply because I like this polish, but rather because last time when I was showing it, the pictures were lacking to essential things which make this polish shine - top coat and sun.

So, even covered with a top coat, in the shade Purple Medallion looks modest. Well, modest comparing to how it can actually look. The polish consists of a darker purple jelly base with purple and holographic glitter particles. The latter do not show up before...

...the first patch of sunlight hits the nails...

.. and the real rainbow begins!!

Briefly about the application: the polish is opaque even in 1 coat (2 coats on the pictures) but a bit goopy too, the texture is like what I usually call "sour creme with sugar". Applies fine though, and I repeat that it needs top coat like air, because its initial finish is semi-matte and gritty.

As you probably know, Studio M polishes are hard to find outside the US, so I cordially thank Karen who was so kind to send me this beauty in a swap! What would we all do without our fellow bloggers abroad.. :)

Going Festive: Tru Passion

Enough with all these gloomy winter shades. From now on - Christmas is all around and such. Red, green, crazy glitters, festive colours! Right time to wear them all.
And I kick off with a cool lilac glitter Studio M Tru Passion, which I got from a swap with KarenD. You see it hiding behind the little OPI? : ) It's already the 2d time that I wear Tru Passion, unfortunately first time I didn't have a chance to shoot the swatches. So I'm showing it now.
Here's the bottle:

And here it is on my nails:

What to say.. I'm in love with it! Thank you, Karen!!!
I know such colours suit me - I love them back too, and being a glitter it attracts me even more. Formula was ok, very dense glitter this is - 2 coats are enough. Tru passion, indeed : )

Swap №9: Purple Swap

It's been some time now that I've made another swap, and I cannot but show it! The pretty stuff you see below was sent to me by Karen D, I'm sure you all know her (especially for her great nail wheels and U.S. shop displays posts!!). It was a swap when I actually knew which polishes I'm going to receive (apart from some nice extras :), but before opening the box and putting them altogether I didn't realize it was a ... PURPLE SWAP! =) See yourself:

Left to right:
Confetti Purple Pizzazz
Finger Paints Heavenly Hydrangeas
Studio M Slammin' Red
Studio M Tru Passion
OPI Rosy Future (mini)
Studio M Purple Medallion
OPI Parlez-Vous OPI?
Claire's Mood Polish Calm/Wild

What I forgot to place on the picture is the ring!!! It came together with Finger Paints polish from this nice spring collection with rings, and Karen sent it to me as well... I'll show it next time.

Sooo many lemmings killed by this swap : ) As usual I had a problem where to begin with and which polish to try first. In the end I just could not confront the sparkly hologlitter, so the first one on my nails was Studio M Purple Medallion

This polish is definitely a musthave!!! I seriously don't understand why they are not so wide-spread, at least why I don't see the swatches often. But I did one serious mistake: I didn't cover it with a top coat. Once it's under a TC, it starts to sparkle and shine like crazy!

Thanks a lot, dear Karen!!! It was fun swapping with you and I'm really glad I got these polishes!!!
