Stamped Nonamie

I am actually not sure if Yves Rocher can be considered as a no-name brand.. rather not. It's just popular more in some countries and less in others. Anyway. Yves Rocher Mauve Léger was bought by me on the very early stage of my [conscious] lacqueroholism. My mum likes their cosmetics and at that point I thought she can't be wrong and gave it a try. Not in vain. The polishes I have of this brand behave nicely and some have interesting shades. But let's "mauve" on to the pictures:

(Yves Rocher Mauve Leger - 3 coats
stamped with WnW Buffy The Violet Slayer
and SdP image plate B18)
And the initial colour:

Totally charming mauve (?) with microshimmer. You can call me a dummy, but for me it's just lilac, and mauve is something more complicated - so I feel. The formula is ok and the interesting thing about this polish is that you can wear it starting from 1 coat to em infinity. The coverage is great, it's just the opacity will differ. I did 3 coats this time.

Yves Rocher Mauve Leger belonged to the "throw-away-group", but I still didn't discard it. As well as some others. You were right girls, throwing away nail polish - even dinosaur-old, almost empty bottles - is extremely hard.

And now, making use of the international auditorium of my readers, I'm asking:
Are Yves Rocher polishes/cosmetics any popular in your country? Do you have any of their lacquers?

  1. Прелестный оттенок сам по себе и очень понравилось с рисунком.
    А я все не могу с конадом справиться никак, не хватает мне на ноготь по длине, хоть ты тресни! Не на всех, конечно же.

  2. It is a beautiful manicure!!! I would never guess the base colour by itself because it lloks so different with the stamping, but I would say it is definitely some shade of purple :P I used to buy a lot of mini nail polishes by Yves Rocher and I really loved them but that was when I was in my 10th grade... after that the sellers just disappeared O_o and then Oriflame took over the throne! And I became an Oriflame seller! But I didn't sold enough so they s****** on me :( now I don't know who the heck still sells those brands.... end of (sad) story! :P ^__^

  3. I love your stamping. I love this color more, when it is stamped. About Yves Rocher, I think we only have web shop in Slovenia, and here too, Oriflame obviously took over :D

  4. Ohhh I love it!
    Looks so cute.
    I don't own any YR nail polish yet.

  5. Hi!

    Where I live, (Netherlands) Yves Rocher is not really a famous brand. I do not own any nailpolish of this brand. But... maybe I should? :)

  6. I love the stamping you did! Here in Italy there are some Yves Rocher stores but so far I bought just a couple mini polishes, on sale (they usually are quite expensive) and tried just one...Nice but not amazing.

  7. @ALL: thanks for your feedback, girls!!

    @Antallex: спасибо! Этот рисунок с пластинки, у которой рисунки в полтора раза больше конадовских, а то бы я сто лет мучалась, мне с такой длиной тоже не хватает.

    @Akuma Kanji: thank you!! You are right, stamping changed the look a lot. Yea, these are also my high school years - Oriflame, Yves Rocher, Avon.. I think in order to be successful in selling all this chain cosmetics, you have to work in a huge organization and walk around offering catalogues to your colleagues ^^

    @Sara: thank you! Haha, I thought Oriflame was already in the past. We have Yves Rocher shops in almost every city here in Germany.

    @Carolina: thank you, dear! :) Well, YR polishes are not worth chasing for. You have muuuuch better stuff there in US.

    @KimsKie's Nails: hi, thanks for telling! Well, I don't think you miss much by not having any :) There's actually nothing special about them.

    @maisenzasmalto: I agree, Yves Rocher polishes are rather overpriced, and many of them are actually nothing special. But I think it's good to have a couple, just for collection :)

    @Nailderella, Pinkbeauty_love: thank you, ladies =)

  8. I've never seen them, but I've heard the name... so I guess idk?

  9. Мне тоже кажется, что маув - это что-то более сложное и припыленное, хотя судя по описанию цвета в сети, этот вполне может называться маувом. Мне напомнил Деко ОПИ, красивый стильный цвет.

  10. I've never seen this polish brand in the UK but I do love this manicure. Definitely.

  11. Perfect!

  12. @misaya: thank you :)

    @thenailaholic: they are not so popular in the US I guess, cuz you have many other cool stuff :)

    @Miss Jones: беда одна с цветами этими.. Мне вот интересно: mauve - французское слово, осевшее в английском, а французы и англичане под ним один и тот же цвет подразумевают, или разные) Потому что если в словари глянуть, там вообще бардак полный. Приходится на свое цветоощущение полагаться :)

    @Ash-Lilly: thanks :) wow, I thought YR is everywhere, in Europe at least..

    @Gigi: thanks :)

  13. Super nice stamping! Tomorrow I will go to the marriage of my best friend and the bride asked us to wear a purple or lilac accessory, so I was planning a similar manicure. Hope I will obtain a gorgeous result as yours! :)
    I've never bought an Yves Rocher polish, I have to say that I don't know so much that brand, but I will take a look!

  14. nice color, lovely design... what's there not to like ;-D

  15. Beautiful color and I love the delicate stamping!
    I need to get back to doing more manicures such as this :)

  16. Lindas unhas parabéns ficaram uma delicadeza!

    Ótimo final de semana
    Beijos coloridos!

    @nail crazy: thank you! :)

    @Anutka: I also noticed that your manis became more bright and colourful :) But of course I don't think it's bad, I like both subtle and bright manis you do!
