White Noise

Remember the White Noise movie? Boo! :) Although the post is about a nail polish which should be called this way. Officially it's called El Corazón Confetti #529a, but if it could have a name, it would be "white noise" - no other options :)

El Corazón Confetti #529a consists of black and white small glitter in a transparent base. The glitter concentration is very high, so I had an opaque coverage after 2 coats only. The first coat dries fast, the second one.. needs some time.

The surface is gritty (as you could guess :), and not glossy. Which is cool in my opinion because it looks like stone, but if you want a glossy finish you better use a top coat.

Now that's what I call a unique polish! Nowhere have I seen anything similar yet.. have you?

*The nail polish was kindly provided by El Corazón company for my consideration. In this post I expressed my honest and unbiased opinion about the product.

Poppy Seeds & Ice Cream

Another fantastic creation of the Russian nail polish wizards - Chatte Noire #519 - I just couldn't pass by when I suddenly saw it in a southern Russian city while going to a groceries store.. You see, although this shade is pretty popular among Russian nail obsessitas, it's rather hard to find too. I browsed many polish shops of St. Petersburg and never found it here, and I'm very happy that I suddenly discovered it in a random place!

Chatte Noire 519

Chatte Noire #519 is a white creme polish with black small "sand" glitter. The shade reminds me of poppy seed ice cream, which I have never eaten to be honest :)

Chatte Noire 519

The bottle looks clumsy to me, but it's a matter of taste. The brush is thin (as I like it) and thus allows to draw a precise and neat cuticle line.

The application... has positively surprised me!! The polish is opaque in 2 coats and very easy to apply. I wish I could apply my other white cremes so easily... Everything dries in a snap, so I didn't even use a top coat. Moreover, the polish even has its own gloss!

Chatte Noire 519

Although it was already getting dark when I was taking the pictures (around 23pm, yay for white nights!), I still did a little photo-shooting with flowers. Couldn't resist :)

This is my one and only Chatte Noire nail polish, and I'm quite impressed with the quality. I keep seeing Chatte Noire swatches here and there in the Russian blogs, but so far I haven't seen a second shade I'd love to have - they are nice and all, just not as unique as this one.

DIY Black Sand Nails

When the "sand nails" trend was just emerging, I was not quite sure if I'm gonna be "in" or "out". Finally I thought: "okay, I'm not overexcited, but I'll try once for sure". But before buying a sand texture nail polish I decided to create hardcore sand nails myself. What I got looks rather like wet gritty asphalt, or like volcanic sand - you judge!

Black Sand Nails

Making this black gritty mess was quite simple: all I needed is a black creme base and a jar of loose black glitter. Let's start with the base colour...

Essence Black Out

Using the chance, I'd like to show the swatches of Essence Black Out, a black creme with satin finish - 1 out of 2 black cremes I own :) To be honest, the satin finish sucks, it's just half-matte and streaky, I didn't even want to make pics. What you see is all covered with top coat. Otherwise, the polish is quite goopy, but with a lil patience you can layer it with 1 coat.

Essence Black Out

When I had my black base colour ready, I just applied a layer of top coat on each nail and dipped into the glitter jar, working with one nail at a time - as easy as that! :) By the way, the glitter I got from lovely Dulce among other cool nail art supplies.. thank you, dear! :)

And the "sandy" result I got:

Close-ups.. looks not very "cute", rather brutal, I know ^^

Surface: was supper gritty!!! Although all the glitter particles were nicely stuck and none falling off, I could barely touch my face. But it was a great feeling to scratch smth with a surface of a nail :D :D Like your bf's back XD Needless to say, sand nails were getting a lot of attention from people around me :)

Surely, someone looking at this might say: "Oh holy sh#$^%!!! That's gross!!!". But then again, just read the name of my blog and don't take stuff any seriously :) :)

So, what do you think? :)

Striping Tape Manicure

Out of many nail art tools and techniques, striping tape was something that I always wanted to try. That's why I when I finally got it, I was fiddling with it like a monkey with a piece of jewellery, not knowing what to do with the tape : ) But in the end I came up with a simple design like that:

striping tape manicure

The base colour I used is a wonderful black holographic polish Smart Girls Get More #59. I already showed it in its full beauty here, so I'll just say again that I love the name of the brand and the fact that it's a 1-coater!

And the silver striping tape was kindly sent to me by KKCenterHk - a nail art and beauty supplies store. The tape is of a decent quality, it sticks well, even after several attempts. The silver colour doesn't smudge when you apply a top coat. For me it was quite easy to work with the tape.. I also liked that it's thin, so it doesn't look too bumpy when applied on nails. The only thing I have to note: such type of manicure requires a good layer of top coat, otherwise the tape will go off after your first shower : )

And here's the result once again.. I also placed a silver rhinestone to make it all look more sophisticated.

Depend & Dance!

After all my work part of the trip was finished, I immediately wanted to have something bright on my nails, so I painted them with Depend #228. The weather was warm and sunny, and my mood was up all the time, so this sky blue bright shade just passed the situation perfecly! Even without it, isn't it just gorgeous?

What I like about this polish, is that it's packed with silver shimmer! Not to mention the formula and application - 2 very fast-drying coats at the photos. Actually I have the whole Depend series with this gorgeous shimmer: 221218227, and 243. Thanks to Annie and Miss Jones for helping me getting them!
Here you can see some funny crappy old swatches of mine :)

Approximately at the same time I bought Dance Legend Top Domino Mix, and I had to try it on. So Depend #228 just happened to be a perfectly suitable base :)

Domino Top Mix is black and white glitters swimming in a clear base, and as simple the idea is - it's a-ma-zing :) The first days I was walking around with this polish and trying on everything and everyone :) I wrote already, that the Russian bloggers call it "response to Lynderella", but I still think that Lynderella is more creative and productive than the whole Dance Legend brand, but it´s a nice try for Russian nail polish industry anyway :)

Discord With The Outer World

For a week now it has been +20 here and very sunny. To match the weather I was wearing THIS on my nails for like 5 days. Very summery shade, right? Lol.

So, it's Essence Berlin Story that I'm showing. If you are searching for a nice black creme - it can be the one, because it's opaque in 1 coat (2 coats on the pictures), glossy and long lasting. The only thing is that it was a LE, so it's very hard to find now. But the world is full of nice black cremes anyway, so finding an analogue is not that hard.

Generally, I love black on my [short] nails, but... *sigh*... seems like my choice of polish doesn't have any relation to the weather/season outside anymore : ) I guess it's another level of addiction.

Smart Girls Get More

Actually, it is true. Maybe I'll write a book about it some other time, but we're here to see polishes : ) So here it is, a hero of today's post: Smart Girls Get More # 56. Tiny pretty thing. In comparison with Orly polish barrel:

Aaa you see there's something blinging in the black bottle? Looks more interesting than just a black cream? Well, it definitely is: it's a black subtle scattered holo! Can you imagine?

Attention: this is 1 (!) coat. I seriously don't know what not to love about this polish. I'm so grateful to Stickers whose giveaway I won and got this pretty thing : ) However, it's the first time that I see this brand ever, so if you wanna get it you better ask Stickers where.
And some more captures of the holo effect:

Ufff, I couldn't stop taking pictures of it!! By the way, it's the first black polish I wear in my life. EVER. But what a cool one! After such a notorious start I'll definitely keep trying the blacks I have : )
